Hi there,

First of all, your decision to release Nanogong as Free Software with
the Apache Licence is fantastic!

We are an IT company specialising in open source in New Zealand, and my
department do a lot of work with Moodle in the tertiary education
sector. I am currently evaluating Nanogong as a potential solution for a
client, who would like some customisations, and I thought I'd ask your
thoughts on their feasibility, given your familiarity with the code.

1. The client would like to use Nanogong in an online exam situation in
Moodle, and has asked for the following features:

  a. The applet only allows users to press record once (or n times) so
that students can't re-record an answer once they've started,

  b. Disable the pause button while recording, and

  c. A maximum recording time limit (or even auto-submit of the
recording if the quiz's time limit is reached).

Do any of these sound like show stoppers? I imagine these can be
controlled with applet parameters, and checks in the relevant
constructor code.

2. Given Nanogong is now Free Software, are you interested in setting up
online resources to foster community development, and perhaps publish
the CVS history? I have started our own git repository here, to track
our own changes, but the previous commit history would be very useful.
There is definitely interest from developers here at Catalyst if so, and
opening it up to a collaborative community will of course benefit many
different parties and accelerate the contribution of new features and fixes.

Once again, thank you for your time, and congratulations on choosing to
open source your Nanogong project! :-)

Cheers,
